END: FMLY, Pt. 1
We've had a great run but it's time for us all to move on as a FMLY to Wordpress. Your efforts we're incredible and we squeezed all that we could out of ya, but in the long run it will not be enough. In the next week you'll be seeing a lot of changes in your FMLY and as you do we'll announce our entire SXSW line-up as well as hand over a few gifts we've been holding onto. We hope that you come to our Los Angeles Booty Shaking Blog Launch Party with Daedelus, Free The Robots, [Post-foetus] and Intricate Machines. NY events will continue soon, and we can't wait to further build this relationship. Whether you've been a reader and attender for the past year or if you just found out about FMLY, we personally thank you and welcome you to our neck of the woods.
We've moved to www.thefmly.com and www.thefmly.com/ny, although I believe that by
Music should be free. But until then we'll be here to bring you our favorite bands as intimately as possible for as cheap as we can. Please, artists, musicians, writers, video peeps, get in contact with us if you want to keep busy.
See you soon,

New Grizzly Bear
Welcome to the new Grizzly Bear. We've seen "While You Wait For The Others" and my favorite so far, "Two Weeks." Now you have the chance to warm up to the depths of "Cheerleader," I know you've always wanted to.
Grizzly Bear - Cheerleader (live)
The new site is done and I'm so pumped to share it with you. Cameron and I have poured our everything into it and it'll be great to watch it evolve. All I've gotta say is that you'll be surfing it sooner than the next Lost episode. Notice that with "Cheerleader" there's no more Mediafire middleman, yeah, that's right...we host our own files now.

The Kellogg Company Drops Michael Phelps, The Cannabis Community Drops Kellogg’s
And now a message from NORML:
Tell Kelloggs their actions against Phelps will not be tolerated!
Please take time today to contact the Kellogg Corporation.
Tell them that you oppose their decision to drop Michael Phelps and that, as a result you WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANY KELLOGGS RELATED PRODUCTS (until the company decides to reinstate the Phelps as their spokesperson).
There are several ways you can make your opinion known to the company.
You can call Kellogg’s main telephone number during east coast business hours, Monday through Friday, at: (269) 961-2000 or toll free at: 1 (800) 962-1413.
You can e-mail Kellogg’s consumer services department by visiting: http://www2.kelloggs.com/ContactUs. aspx.
You can contact Kellogg’s media relation department at: 269-961-3799 or via e-mail at email@example.com .
You can e-mail Kellogg’s corporate responsibility department at: firstname.lastname@example.org .
You can e-mail Kellogg’s investor relations department at: email@example.com .
Or finally, you can write the Kellogg Company a letter at:
One Kellogg Square
P.O. Box 3599
Battle Creek, MI 49016-3599
When contacting the company, please be polite and concise. Tell them:
“Hi, my name is _____________ and I’m a frequent consumer of Kellogg’s products.
Nearly one out of two Americans has used marijuana. This includes tens of thousands of prominent, highly successful Americans — including our current President. Michael Phelps should not be stigmatized nor condemned for private behavior that he, and millions of others, engage in on a daily basis.
The majority of the public, as well as those in the media, are standing behind Michael Phelps and so am I. I will no longer be purchasing Kellogg’s brand products until your company reverses its decision and reinstates Michael Phelps as your spokesperson.”
Thank you for standing up against the needless discrimination of cannabis consumers.
It’s the absurd and hypocritical laws that criminalize the behavior of Phelps and tens of millions of other successful and productive Americans like him that is worthy of condemnation.
FMLY is looking for music, film, fashion, mixtape and random spirit lovers to help out on the blog. If you have a driving passion and feel the need to express it to the world then send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and a sample of your writing. There are no conditions, you do not need prior experience and you will not have to serve us digital coffee. You'll start by posting minimum once a week and then ideally, over time, each day. Location does not matter, just please be interested. In return you can drop the FMLY name for concerts on the condition that you post a review within 24hrs of the show. If you're interesting in recording shows, sound, lighting, making flyers or advertising at FMLY events then contact me at the email above as well. Or if you just want to talk...
Also, don't forget about the transition to the new website!
URB has exclusive Gorillaz demos. They sound great, peep here.
Odd Nosdam Remixes Danielson
anticon. co-founder and ex-art director Odd Nosdam worked some magic on Danielson's "Our Givest" - as if Danielson isn't magical enough! I don't know where you can preview the track, but you can purchase the 7" here. Definitely worth checking out on Odd's MySpace is his remix of Black Moth Super Rainbow's "Forever Heavy."
If you're in SF tonight make sure to stop by USF for an all evening concert featuring our boys in Koalacaust! More info on their MySpace.
Natural History Museum's First Fridays
First Fridays are back at Los Angeles' Natural History Museum! Tonight brings The Bird And The Bee duo with our D.C. pals Jukebox the Ghost. Dublab DJs in the African Mammal Hall include The Phatal DJ and DJ Michael Stock.
This year's series overview
This year Charles Darwin turns 200 and his world-altering On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection turns 150. Often considered one of the two or three most important – and misunderstood – texts published in the sciences, The Origin of Species is also one of a handful of scientific works that has reverberated beyond science, shaking the foundations of art, literature, philosophy, religion and society. This season's First Fridays celebrate “Darwin Year” through entertaining and fascinating conversations with six of the world's foremost authors and experts on the life of Darwin, the science of evolution, and the revolutionary impact of the man and his work.

Ol' Dirty Bastard Youtube Highlights
[ODB and Biggie]
I was surfing Youtube and came across some interesting videos. The first being Ol' Dirty Bastard with Biggie. It's just so great to see them in the same shot holding mics. The second video is ODB interrupting the Grammy awards after finding out that Wu-Tang lost to Puffy. In his defense, it did look like he bought an expensive suit. Catch a pretty drunk ODB freestyle right here. Awesome 25-second clip of The Roots performing ODB's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and A Tribe Called Quest's "Award Tour" here. Longer version of "SSY" at VH1's Hip-Hop honors is here. Ukelele cover of "Got Your Money" here from Dave Atell's Gong Show. Finally, my personal favorite, "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" on a Disney toy here.
And possibly the best way to ever end, start or cuten your day...a small child singing "C.R.E.A.M."
BMSR Bside Gets Video Treatment
"Happy Melted City" off of Black Moth Super Rainbow's Drippers EP just received a touch of video.
my man beta carnage (responsible for all the visuals in the tobacco dvd) made us a video for happy melted city off of the drippers rarities ep. we still have some scratch n sniff copies of the cd and 10" colored vinyl at the bmsr webstore.
www.blackmothsuperrainbow.com/disco1.htm [via BMSR Bulletin]
Peep it above. Beta Carnage says, "Giant hand is from some 70's funk video compilation , I think it was on a stevie wonder song. I have no idea where they got it from,. girl in portal is from Barbarella."
BLINK-182 REUNITE FOR SUNDAY'S GRAMMYS (edit: or not)
BLINK-182 ARE REUNITING. I don't even know how to express myself at the moment. Read.
edit: MTV fixed their site, Blink is not reuniting, they're only presenting an award together. But that's still a breakthrough! And the Coachella rumors are entertaining.
edit's edit: BLINK IS BACK! NEW ALBUM! SUMMER TOUR!

So I'm not going to keep it under wraps any longer, FMLY does have a website and it is just about finished. For the next week or so until we launch it I'll be leaving a blurb at the bottom of every post reminding you to set your FMLY browsers for our new site. Chances are that it will redirect you automatically from here to there, but I just want everyone to be conscious of this step.
There is both a NY and an LA site now, I'm so excited for you all to see it and until then we've left a nice little FMLY welcome. Welcome to FMLY 2.009, we're glad you're all with us. SXSW announcements and some other things we've been working on coming soon.
And uhhh, come to our show on the 21st. Fbook RSVP here.
