The Fall of an Empire

As the old music industry claws at the sides of the hole they have dug for themselves, three of the four major record companies, Universal Music, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group with EMI prospected to follow, will join Myspace as a last attempt to turn the books black. Later this year you will be able to share custimized playlist with your friends and listen to music online for free paid for by advertising. Thank god I will finally be able to listen to Hannah Montana for free while being bombarded with pop ups! You can download tracks to put on your portable music device as well (for a fee) and they are also considering a subscription component. This would be pretty revolutionary if it were 1999...
I say too little too late. Maybe the reason wee aren't buying the music isn't because we can get it for free off the internet but because the music isn't worth our money.

...This segment is becoming too easy to write...
