Summer Highs With Air France

I posted this on iheartcomix yesterday, have a good read!

The summer solstice is upon us and after picking through the tremendous amount of albums welcoming the season, I'd like to take a quick look at Air France's No Way Down EP (Sincerely Yours). A six song EP clocking in at just over 22 minutes, Air France has once again delivered warm and beautiful music made for road trips, beach days and rooftop parties. The Swedish duo have certainly taken a step in the right direction since last year's (the last week of December '06 counts as January '07 in my book) On Trade Winds EP now verging onto a Saint Etienne meets The Field with a touch of Apparat kind of vibe. Curious? Check out "Collapsing At Your Doorstep" and take it from there. If you find yourself giving the thumbs up, make sure to check out Boat Club as well. Overall, my only complaint about Air France is that their releases are too short; the music is so lush that you want to overwhelm yourself in their sound which is difficult to do within a half hour. You can purchase the No Way Down EP here and watch an unrelated commercial directed by Michel Gondry for Air France - the airline - here.
